One of the most spectacular park I visited is the Yellowstone National Park, mostly located in Wyoming and stretches to Montana and Idaho in the United States of America. If you are looking for another kind of adventure, consider Yellowstone National Park as your next road trip destination and you will never get disappointed. There are staggering things to do and see so plan a good two to three days to fully experience this magnificent wonder.
The rugged and pristine beauty of Yellowstone National Park is enigmatic. Also the road trip to get there is enjoyable where you experience the vast serene landscape and glimpse some wildlife in their natural habitat. There are different entrances to get there and no matter which season of the year you visit, it is distinctively different by its natural landscape.
Yellowstone National Park is the world’s first national park with over 2 million acres. It is home to the worlds largest geyser, abundant wildlife like bears, bison, bald eagles, swans, packed of wolves , elks and more roaming freely around the park. Its rugged wilderness, serene lakes, majestic peaks ,cascading waterfalls and large hot springs and numerous geysers are incredibly enthralling.
One of the highlights to visit in the park is the Old Faithful Geyser, named after its somewhat predictable eruptions. It erupts multiple times in a day and can differ in duration. There are benches on the geyser viewing area, parking lot and also park rangers. The most busiest time to visit is summertime so expect a lot of crowd during this season of the year.
Campgrounds and lodging can fill up relatively quick so plan your trip ahead. The park offers 12 campgrounds and over 2000 campsites . Some camping areas require reservation and others are first come first serve basis. Other things to do on the park is by taking a trail hike, watch wildlife and geysers erupt, go fishing, have a picnic, ride a bike, rafting and paddling or simply just drive around and explore the park. Don’t forget to capture a lot of photos.
Other iconic spot to visit aside from the Old Faithful Geyser are Mammoth Spring, Yellowstone Lake, Lower Falls and the several hot springs and geyser. It is also interesting to note that Yellowstone National Park is one of the largest petrified forest.
I visited this naturally beautiful park twice and its a humbling experience. During winter time is a different adventure. Wether you are a thrill seeker or just like to slow down and unwind, Yellowstone National Park has it all.
