The capital of Eastern Samar is Borongan which is the 1st class component city. It has a tropical rainforest climate. Here are the best beaches in the province of Eastern Samar.
1. Calicoan Beach
Calicoan Beach – is one of the best beaches and it is located in Calicoan Island which is a continuing destination in Eastern Samar. It is one of the new surfing places in the country where you will be able to laze on the sandy part of the beach. It lies on the Pacific Ocean which
executes large waves. You can dive or jump from one of the steep cliffs in the vast part of the sea. There is a shortage of commercial establishments or restaurants only two are available and it has a huge length of great white sand beach. The beach is shaped like a half-moon with many shells. 2. Jagnaya Beach

You will see the Lacsoon Cave which has a hereditary saltwater pool uplift from the cave and during high tides it affixes to the ocean. The beach is not yet profit-oriented so do not expect any facilities and stores around. You can ride a van in
Guiuan but you will alight at Salcedo which will take 3 hours then a 20-minute tricycle ride or an hour walk to Jagnaya.

Homonhon Beach – it became well known for its historical site in the country that many
tourists or travelers go there because they want to glimpse the first rare steps of Magellan which was aground was flat and peaceful. You can stay in the Villa Pacific Resort which is the best stunning beach resort in Eastern Samar on the east side of Leyte Gulf. You can
reach the beach by a motorized boat for one hundred twenty minutes. You can see hundreds of fish everywhere. You can snorkel on the beach.
4. Macate Island
Macate Island – is located in Sulat, Eastern Samar Island, and is perfect for overnight trips and popular for surfing. You can camp on the island in a cottage or tent with access to electricity, cooking, and bathroom facilities to make your stay comfortable. To reach the island you must take a van to Borongan City from Duptours in downtown Tacloban which will take you four hours then take a taxi from Borongan City to Sulat. A 20-minute boat ride from Sulat then you need to look for locals to take you to the island.
5. Nagaya Beach
Nagaya Beach – is certainly a short side trip in which you will just dip in the ocean and it is located in Hernani, Eastern Samar. The shore is a mixture of rocks and white sand which has some residents who are friendly and welcoming. It is a virgin white beach in which the ocean is
so inviting and you won’t hesitate to take a dip. You need to ask somebody for directions and there is a cave in the beach if you want to take refuge from the sun and during low tide tourists and travelers will enjoy the water pools.
6. Divinubo Island
Divinubo Island – is popular for its island hopping and is located in Borongan City, Eastern Samar with white sand beaches, and a simple lighthouse where you can have an amazing view of Eastern
Samar and caves that is perfect for spelunking. It has an eco-tour park on the island which was entrenched by the community to produce a small income while sustaining the wildlife and natural charm areas. 7. Ando Island
Ando Island – is one of the most magnificent islands in the Philippines that is located in Borongan City, Eastern Samar. It is locally known as “puro halaba” which means long island. It has a lot of white sand beaches with aquamarine waters that are perfect for snorkeling and swimming, shoal caves that are ideal for beginners in spelunking, and coconut trees that

8. Hilangagan Beach

The water is crystal clear and the beach is so stunning that it virtually seems bizarre. Its length is 0.63 km and the views are magnificent and the weather is warm all year round. You can ride in a car to reach the beach. Practicing activities are not allowed on the beach and dogs are allowed. The best time to visit the beach is during March, April, October, and November because the temperature is warm.
9. Dumpao Beach
Dumpao Beach – is an alluring, relaxing, usually calm, and safe sandy beach in Sapao, Eastern Samar. The beach is stunning and is worth visiting for family and friends. The views are amazing however you need to look out for the weather because it’s not always good. There are a few options if you are looking for refreshment and food. The best time to visit the beach is during May, June, July, and September since the temperatures are warm and perhaps less crowd.
10. Pearl Island
Pearl Island – is one of the most well-known tourist spots in Guiuan, Eastern Samar. It is also known as “Kantican Island”. It is a tiny island that is popular for the surrounding area being a pearl culture farm. The neighboring seas on the island are filled with marine life like giant clams, abalones, shells, corals, lobster, and different types of fishes and corals. The island has clear
blue waters and a white coral beach that is ideal for fishing, swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving. It is a thirty-minute boat ride from the mainland of its town.
