As we work hard to support our families, worry about our finances, paying our rent or mortgage life comes to us very hard at times. We sometimes stick to our same routine like getting up early, have our morning coffee, check the weather or the news, get a quick workout, shower then go to work.

Then repeat. I found myself getting too worked up in getting the business running.

I saw business booming in year 1 and year 2 then had to endure other challenges ahead. I felt that I was stuck in a rut, I needed to get refreshed and inspired. I decided to take a visit somewhere where time stood still. Somewhere where spreadsheets, EBITDA, ROI, or general ledgers did not apply.

So I decided to visit Alaska and get one with nature. See the beauty of the mountains and enjoy the peace and quiet. I visited Skagway Alaska by taking a cruise that would take you into their port. Home to Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. I took the White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad. A scenic railway that is very beautiful. I took the ride in early June, temperature was around 60 degrees in the summer in town. But while you climb up the rail the temperature begin to drop rapidly.

After returning back to town it was a nice stroll into Skagway historical district. Most of the shops are for tourists with nice jewelry stores or souvenir shops but the buildings were built like the gold rush era.
